Alicia Floyd, owner and Farm Manager, cannot remember a time when she was not involved with and in love with horses. She traces her roots to the cattle ranches of the American West, where she received her first riding instructions from her grandfather, Roscoe Latham, on the ranch’s string of working cow ponies. After moving to Flemington, the Floyds became active in the horse world again, adopting the horses of soldiers deploying from Ft. Stewart, Georgia. The opportunity to ride and care for horses of varying breeds and talents for these short term adoptions gave the Floyd family a deep respect and love of all breeds. However, in the year 2000, with the purchase of Oh! What A Jewel (Cowboy), the Floyds settled on one breed, the American Saddlebred. Currently showing in the show pleasure division, she also enjoys working with young horses and volunteers time towards the 4-H Horse Program on the county, state and regional level.
